Mission Statement: The mission of the service station is to provide low cost solutions to individuals who are struggling with maintaining or acquiring basic transportation. To achieve this, The Service Station does the following:
-Perform professional automotive repairs at reduced rates
-Provide free, professional automotive repairs for those in the most need
-Offer reliable transportation to individuals at prices below NADA trade in value
-Offer reliable transportation free of charge, on both a short term and long term basis, to those individuals in the most need
How?: The Service Station is operated by volunteers at North Wake Church. When possible, the volunteers will perform basic repairs on applicant’s vehicles. In some circumstances, local repair shops are utilized and The Service Station will cover a portion of the repair bill.
Occasionally, vehicles are donated to The Service Station. A portion of these vehicles are inspected and are made available to applicants.
The Application Process: All individuals in need of automotive repairs or replacement are required to complete an application. The application requires individuals to summarize their current income and expenses as well as their most pressing automotive needs. Once a completed application is received, a one-on-one interview is scheduled. Assistance is provided based on need, volunteer availability and current funding. Completed applications can be e-mailed to The Service Station at or dropped off in the church office.
The Vehicle Donation Process: The Service Station accepts donated vehicles and can provide the necessary paperwork to ensure the donor receives a tax deduction for their gift. The vehicles are either used to provide transportation to applicants or will be sold and the funds will be used to cover other ministry costs.
